David2 and I introduced the silkie chicks to the big hens yesterday. We put them on the outside of the run and stood back. Actually, nothing much happened.
You can see that the chickies are developing their drag queen top-knots on their heads. In the photo below you can see the cotton ball tails are also sprouting.
Our babies are growing up… and don’t worry. It’s only my Mad Photographic Skillz that make it seem like the chick has no head. So far, despite having their sole dependence on a teenage boy, all chicks are in fine health. One quick question… how old do they have to be before we can switch their light bulb off? Both David2 and I are tired of being woken at 2, 3 and 4 at night by chickies fluttering and squawking.
Tomorrow I head off for another craft camp at Sewjourn. This time around I’ll be making a quilt that Gim from work commissioned. (I was planning to take back my unopened box of nearly finished projects from last craft camp, but this huge chunk of time is too good to ignore. Quilts move faster with lots of time to lose yourself in them.)
She bought the fabric… let’s see how much I can get done in 3 days!
