Here’s a link to the first blog post I read this morning. Not Quite Nigella talking about a special cafe in Sydney.
A minor miracle happened here on Saturday.
Oh yes it did.
Look! Isn’t it marvellous?
Here’s another shot:
A tradesman came over ON A SATURDAY and work has started on the fences for the chooks and veggies. (Can’t let those vegetables walk around all unfettered and free now can we?) Hopefully by Wednesday my yard will be organised.
In other chooky news, Willow (the one with the gammy leg) laid her first egg yesterday. I couldn’t be more proud. Our Quasimodo girl is finally a woman.
Dennis and Fudge have gone back to the boy who sold them to us as chicks. David2 decided that it wasn’t very practical to have the silkies when we really need proper sized eggs, so Fudge went back as well. The boy gave us $20 back for Fudge, and when he saw her he was very impressed by how prettily she turned out. So I’d say she’ll be breeding stock for him. He also said he’ll see how Dennis will turn out as a breeder. (Black is apparently fairly rare in silkies.) I said that Dennis seems very… enthusiastic…. so the future bodes well for him too.
And just for the hell of it… here’s a photo of Maggie (the chook without a personality) when she jumped on top of the coop.
Guess who’ll be first in line if I ever have to start culling? But then again, she might be safe. After all, we’ve named her…
