The bell had rung for the end of period 2. I was walking back to the staffroom looking forward to a coffee, with a crowd of students coming the other way, heading for the year 10 and year 8 lockers.
As I passed, lots of voices floated out of the crowd.
“Hi Ms Frogdancer.”
“Hi Miss! How are you?”
Then, amongst all the greetings, I heard a deep voice from year 10 say, “Hi Mum.”
