Fair enough.

I’m sitting in front of my year 8 English class at the moment. I’ve set them an essay task on the novel we’re doing and today is the day that they’re planning what it is they’re going to write. Originally I gave them 2 periods to do this but they’ve elected to work really really hard this lesson so that tomorrow they can have a Drama lesson instead.

They were settling down and getting organised and I said that they could plug themselves in if they wished. (In Ms Frogdancer speak, that means that they can listen to ipods while they work.) Jono got out his headphones… just his headphones… and proceeded to plug them into his ears and then weave the other end into his hair.

“What are you doing?” asked his mate next to him.

“I’m listening to my thoughts,” he said.

Are you teaching at The School for Comedy?

Your kids seem to have very developed senses of humour!

Good call Jono. I now have a 9 yo attempting the same thing and anearly 13 yo visibly mentally filing the idea away for use in the coming Yr. 8.

Don't be shy... say something!
