End of the holidays. Argh!

funny facebook fails - Failbook: This Teacher Is Evil (T)/F

*Bought 4 more chooks on Friday. 2 Lavender Araucanas (to get the greeny-bluey eggs) and 2 more Isa Browns. My original chooks are such bitches that within 2 minutes of their arrival we had 2 of the new girls fly up over the fence and into a tree. Got them back, though.

*I still have 3/4 of a classes essays to mark by tomorrow when school starts.

*Doing lots of demos and not so much veggie gardening. Am planting lots of garlic though.

*Going to go out and see if I still have the correct number of chooks in the yard. I’ve clipped their wings but the araucanas are such little birds that they can still flutter high enough to reach the fence if they get a good run up.

Ive heard that a trick for introducing new chickens is to do it under the stealth of night.

  2. Bev says:

Maybe you’d better post a photo before they disappear into the next suburb or get eaten by Murphy.

    Do they have names yet?

  3. river says:

New chooks should be introduced gradually with a bfence between them and the originals until they’re used to the sight and smell of each other, then have increasingly longer times together as a flock.

I don’t like you anymore. So there.
I want greenblue eggs, too. And chickens. And a worm farm! 😉 I’ll skip the 4 boys though to be honest, a girl and boy are plenty work for this mum.
    But really. I want chickens!!

Don't be shy... say something!
